Distinctive Holiday HomesEven the most casual of traveler knows that navigating airport security lines and flight delays these days can be a bear, even after the holiday rush. Destination clubs have responded to the general unhappiness inevitably linked to flying commercially, by teaming up with private jet companies. The result? Access to flights on some of the biggest names in fractional ownership, without a large financial commitment.

In fact such deals with private jet companies allow destination club members to fly on fractional or charter jet fleets without needing to shell out the $100,000 or more required for some entry level jet cards. The pre-arranged deals can also give members a taste of fractional ownership, which can run several hundred thousand dollars or more, for much less.

Here is an overview of the existing partnerships.

Distinctive Holiday Homes

Bombardier challenger 605In November 2007, Distinctive Holiday Homes announced a partnership with Bombardier Sky Jet International. The alliance lets members book flights directly through the club when reserving their vacation. Flights are available with as little as eight hours notice, and members pay a special discounted rate to travel to the club’s nine homes and the 53-foot sailboat. Club members can book a flight and secure a special member rate, paying just the one-way fare but not any repositioning fees that can add to the cost of a trip. While a transatlantic flight may prove cost prohibitive, the private flights option can be used for, say, shorter hops in Europe.

Exclusive Resorts

Marquis Jet - Gulfstream 550In 2003, Exclusive Resorts teamed up with Marquis Jet. Marquis sells flight time in blocks of 25 flight hours but though this alliance, Exclusive Resorts’ members have access to private jet travel to any of the company’s luxury destinations around the world without needing to purchase a Marquis card. Members can pick their airport and destination, and book a flight with only a few hours notice and receive a $5,000 discount on the cost of the flight. This agreement was extended for another multi-year contract in 2006.

Quintess, LRW and Solstice Collection

QuintessBoth Quintess, the Leading Residences of the World and ultra-luxury club Solstice Collection also offer air alliances to their members through their respective partnerships with Sentient Jets, a leading provider of private jet travel.

Each time you fly, you have the freedom to choose the size and category of jet that best fits your travel needs. A Quintess, LRW Member interested in a Sentient membership can purchase a Gold-Level Sentient Jet Membership with an initial deposit of just $100,000, which is a special 60 percent reduction off the standard deposit of $250,000. Sentient’s TravelCard requires only an initial deposit and flight costs are deducted from that amount. Funds on deposit are fully refundable at any time.

Of course, there are other sources for booking a private flight. Services are available through factional ownership, charter flights, and charter cards. To help you determine which of these options is the right travel solution for your next trip, download our free Guide to Private Jet Travel.
