Thank you to Amy, our Member Travel Advisor, for all the preparations that took place to make sure our Napa Valley trip was a good one. We had the most wonderful time! It was probably the best vacation we’ve ever taken…..and we’ve taken a lot! Carrie and Jon, our Destination Hosts, were fabulous and went out of their way to give us top notch attention.

There were so many great things about our trip to Napa Valley…...FABULOUS restaurants. Cyrus in Healdsburg was probably the best. Jason said it was the best meal he’s ever had. On the Zagat survey, which we always find helpful when looking for good restaurants, they rated it a 28. French Laundry is a 29 and 30 is perfect (according to their scale). Just to give you an idea…

We also loved the Safari West wildlife reserve with the kids. The setting in the mountains between Calistoga and Santa Rosa was just beautiful. We were so close to the animals during the drive through safari that a giraffe tried to lick the lens of my camera. His breath was not fresh, in case you were wondering.

Our favorite wineries we discovered were Nickel & Nickel and Far Niente (both owned by the same people coincidentally). Absolutely beautiful and unique from any other wineries we’ve toured before. I highly recommend those two.

And Cuvee, who wouldn’t love that home? The girls enjoyed the heated pool, running around on the deck, picking lemons from the tree by the driveway and making lemonade, and making s’mores on the outdoor fireplace.
