If the automated tie rack or set of novelty cufflinks you gave Dad the last few Father’s Days are still languishing in their boxes, Boston’s Otto Club presents a special gift promotion that is sure for once to set his heart racing in more ways than one. The Otto Club is offering seven mini-membership plans for $9,950. At a cost of 1/20 of a new Lamborghini Gallardo, the club’s mini-membership is economically sound.
The plan consists of twelve days of use in any three of the club’s fleet of nine exotic cars: a variety of Ferraris, Lamborghinis, Bentleys, Aston Martins and the like. Luxury car clubs – Club Sportiva, Classic Car Club, and the Otto Club among them – have steadily moved towards a prepay model.
Otto Club members ordinarily purchase driving time through a system of points annually derived from their level of membership. This temporary and limited membership is an intriguing option for automotive enthusiasts who might otherwise be reluctant to make a long-term commitment to a car club.
The Otto Club’s high member to car ratio and its emphasis on procuring only the rarest and most sought after of exotics make it an attractive choice for car lovers in the greater Boston area, at a fraction of the cost of purchasing and maintaining one luxury car, let alone nine. How does Otto stack up against other car clubs? Helium Report breaks down some of the top contenders in the exotic car club market, and explains the concept of fractional car clubs. So New Englanders, with Father’s Day fast approaching, remember: nothing says “I love you” like a weekend cruising in a Ferrari 430.
